Learn from the mistakes of others...Life's too short to make them all yourself

I truly believe in the above quote, and because of this I decided to make this addition. The things here you can either take or leave. I put them here because many are based on mistakes I have made, and I want others to be able to learn from them. You don't have to apply them, you don't have to listen, they might not even apply to you... Not all are related to Sanguins either, some are things I have learned for other parts of my life. Some of these are serious, but you know I can't make them all that way... I think I would explode or something :) I welcome the experience of others as well. If you have learned something that you think others would benefit from, e-mail me at: s_faolchu@yahoo.com Somewhere in the message let me know it is for this page, though. Otherwise I may respond, but I won't post it.

  • Not everyone is going to like you, nor every other blood drinker
  • Be careful of the difference between gratitude and love. It is a fine line, but it is there!
  • In {insert diety here} we trust, all others must get blood tests
  • Just because it looks like blood and smells like blood, doesn't mean it is.
  • Mice aren't worth the trouble... even if they have invaded your living space
  • Your donor is giving you something you need... you depend on them, not vice versa, respect that.
  • You are the only one that matters, if you know who you are then it doesn't matter that others doubt...
  • You don't have to defend yourself
  • You are going to be asked to turn someone probably at least once in your life... if you turn them down do so gently or it could haunt you
  • Be careful of getting to, ah, excited, when you are Thirsty. The beast in us rather likes that time.
  • Be kind to Role players and life stylers...sometimes this is as close as you can get to someone who really understands you
  • Find yourself at least one person you can trust to know what you are. This gives you a shoulder to cry on and an ear that you can speak freely around
  • Be careful of who you trust to tell.
  • Walk softly and carry a pillow
  • Wrap-around sunglasses work the best
  • Just because you have fed recently doesn't mean that those you are talking to have. Remember this so you don't wind up playing "tease the vamp" unintentionally
  • Laugh at cheesy vampire jokes, movies and books... it is a great tension reliever
  • Learn from those around you, they may have been there before and have suggestions
  • If you trust someone enough to date them, you should be able to trust them enough to tell them what you are. Don't wait forever.
  • Be an asset to the community. In helping your fellow sanguin you help yourself by earning a friend
  • Don't live like you are immortal, you are not. Instead, live like it is your last day on Earth.
  • Advice is free, and you get what you pay for
  • If you want to do something, stop talking about it and do it!
  • Little kids will always know what you are, they just don't always know the right word to use
  • No matter how hard you try, there will always be unexpected problems
  • Expect to make mistakes, you are not perfect... Learn to avoid the mistakes you can, however, by thinking ahead...
  • When you can, fix or make amends for mistakes made.
  • Just because you think you know everything doesn't mean you can't learn more.
  • Watch your tongue around those who don't know what you are... it's easy to slip.
  • Always believe things will get better, most of the time they do.
  • No matter how well you think you hide it, invariably something will leak through and someone will notice. Most of the time they don't know what it is, though ;)
  • Pain knows no boundaries, and in comforting an enemy, one can sometimes change a mind.
  • Just because you have a donor, or are even married to him/her doesn't mean they will always give it when you want it.--RavenHawk
  • Keep your friends close... and your enemies closer ;)
  • People are going to doubt you. It is not their job to believe in you...it's YOURS!
  • You can't change everyone.
